Reef Critters

Reef Critters are invertebrate animals that live in harmony with fish and coral and are often a vital part of living reef aquariums. They include snails, crabs, shrimp, urchins, worms, and starfish. Also called "cleanup animals", these critters eat left over food, fish waste, and algae and thus keep the aquarium cleaner and healthier. Although their function is mainly "janitorial" they also happen to be some of the most interesting animals to observe. Quantity of the critters added to the aquarium and the specific species is important the success of the aquarium. As with fish and corals, we will help our clients select the appropriate reef critters to allow for a thriving and peaceful reef ecosystem.
